There is nothing that the scumbags that make up the band Rude Awakening can say or tell their friends that can justify the damage that they did to the people of our area and hardcore scene. I watched that band and members of other bands such as Xibalba act like children and assault a friend of mine, Jarrod, with their bass guitar repeatedly. (as you can see in these pictures) We had to rush him to the emergency room with this split on his head and his ear split in half. Furthermore they went on to assault one of the promoters and people who booked them by sucker punching him while the mic was in his hands and breaking his nose just for trying to mediate the situation, ensure the safety of the everyone present and continue the show . Taylor Young is a respectable icon in this area for all he has contributed to the scene and one of the least conflicting individuals you could meet, if it wasn’t for him they wouldn’t have been getting paid nor had a venue to play at in the first place. Thanks to this incident we had the only venue in this area shut down and No Savior production is done booking shows. There are people saying that the band was trying to “protect their friends”, that’s the furthest thing from the truth I have heard and its offensive that people try to justify the events and blame the crowd for trying to attain a points on a nonexistent social scale. Unless you were present or personally know one of the victims, then you can shut your mouth because I’m sure if anyone saw their friends that badly injured they’d be just as outraged. I personally witnessed them attempting to instigate multiple fights even with Jarrod after they ripped his head open and he was bleeding profusely, and when I tried to tell them not to go there, the guitarist for Xibalba tried to instigate a fight with me. Even after the events they are trying to put out word that they are not culpable and trying to victimize themselves, which I really hope no one buys. Never has this area seen such a band cause that much chaos, for fucks sake they are the people everyone paid and drove out of their way to see, we all supported them making this trip out here and were their fan base; everyone deserved much more respect than that and its a shame that people had to see the band who makes the music that gets them through their days turn out to be such scum. I do not support this band or their actions, I don’t care who they are or who they know, they need to drop the tough guy bullshit and admit they fucked up instead of throwing the blame onto other people. I hope they never get to experience playing a show again because they don’t deserve that after all the shit they pulled.
